Professional Development

While at Queensland University of Technology studying a Bachelor of Education (Primary) I participated in the following professional development sessions:

Science In Schools (At Uni): 9am-3pm Wednesday 4th May, 2011
Description: While studying the unit Teaching Primary Science, I was given the opportunity to team up with a class-mate and present four rounds of a 20minute minilesson  or experiment to students from two local schools in grades 4 and 6. The students enjoyed our experiment on shake-tables and earthquake safe construction and I received a certificate of participation.

Full Day Grammar Workshop: Sunday 26 March, 2011
Description: Conducted by Marianne Schubert from QSA for Meanjin Local Council of ALEA, this all day workshop focussed on persuasive texts and critical analysis of texts used in the classroom. For this I received a certificate of attendance.
